If you meet a business contact for lunch, you’ll want a relaxed yet focused environment that encourages trust and builds strong relationships through easy, wide-ranging conversation. Done right, these informal discussions spark creativity, strengthen partnerships, and can even secure new opportunities.
Building Relationships over Lunch
A business lunch may technically be a working meal, but sharing food together creates space for personal connection. It’s often more productive than a quick coffee or an office meeting, especially if your usual contact is mostly virtual.
Taking a client, supplier, or colleague to lunch is also a subtle but effective way to show appreciation and reinforce the value of the relationship.
But choosing the right restaurant matters. The ideal venue offers a calm yet lively atmosphere, encourages conversation, and provides privacy when needed. A central location with a varied menu that caters to different dietary needs is best. Above all, it should reflect professionalism while still feeling warm and welcoming.
Business Lunches at Nessa Soho
Nessa Soho is on Brewer Street, in the vibrant heart of this buzzing part of London – its impeccable central location makes it easy to get to. Our restaurant and bar take their name from Vanessa Bell, the pioneering artist and sister of Virginia Woolf. A leading member of the Bloomsbury Group, Bell’s salons became gatherings for radical ideas and creativity. At Nessa, we carry forward that same spirit – blending heritage with a modern approach to dining.
Perfect for any Occasion
Here, under the leadership of executive chef Tom Cenci, we focus on seasonal produce and British ingredients to create thoughtful, characterful dishes. We’re open seven days a week, serving from 8am until midnight, which makes it easy to fit a meal around your working day. For those who prefer an earlier start, breakfast meetings are also an option.
Our menus shift with the seasons, offering a balance of comforting classics and fresh new ideas. If you’re after something lighter in the evening, the weekday Nessa Express menu provides a shorter version of our offering between 5–6pm – ideal for pre-theatre plans or anyone wanting to dine a little earlier.
Dishes range from celeriac carbonara with confit egg and truffle to pan-roasted Cornish cod with British potatoes and herring roe, alongside daily specials that bring variety throughout the week.
The aim is simple: a relaxed atmosphere where food and conversation flow naturally, without feeling corporate or formal.
